The Senate has adjourned sine die, almost six hours after the House. Session over. The news on this strange day should be very interesting.

 

The Senate Tea Party gang made a run at muscling the governor to cave on a couple of tax cutting measures and, yes, believe it or not, SB 81, and lost.

 

The governor refused to negotiate terms of surrender. 

 

So give thanks and be glad this session is done and gone.

 

For sure, the legislature has left us with some unanswered questions going forward re state employee pay, public employee retirement, and school funding. 

 

But we are confident working with Governor Bullock and, as may be necessary, in the courts, we will seek and find answers.

 

Meanwhile, please know we did well in this session, despite all odds.
