Gov. Bullock signs school funding bill, vetoes privatization bill

Today, Governor Steve Bullock signed SB 175 (L.Jones) – to fund public schools – as passed by the legislature. This is the bipartisan bill that MEA-MFT and the rest of Montana’s public school community worked so hard together to pass this session.

 

And, today, the governor, vetoed SB 81 (Lewis) – to create taxpayer funded scholarships for private and sectarian student scholarships. SB 81 diverted tax money from public schools to private schools.

 

More to follow . . . but knowing Governor Bullock has done the right thing makes this a GREAT DAY for all Montana public education.
