The Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE) is Montana’s largest and most professionally diverse union. Today, MFPE’s political action committee announced its endorsement of Kathleen Williams for U.S. Congress.

The decision to endorse Kathleen Williams for Congress was made following in-depth interviews conducted by MFPE member-leaders. The interviews focused on where the candidates stand on important issues facing MFPE’s diverse membership including teachers, law enforcement, and health care professionals working in public institutions across all levels of Montana government.

“Two years ago, Kathleen Williams learned a lot about how to run for federal office against the body slamming incumbent,” said MFPE President Eric Feaver. “Now she is poised to become Montana’s second ever woman elected to the U.S. Congress.

Williams is one of us, a Montanan through and through with a careful eye on how her work in Congress will benefit all of us. Not benefit her. Benefit us. All of us,” President Feaver continued. “We know Williams will protect and advance our state’s determined interest in strong public schools, unfettered public access to public lands, judicious preservation of our spectacular natural environment, comprehensive health care infrastructure for veterans and our Native American citizens. Williams will be a congressperson for all the people, all the time.”
