Aspiring Educators

MFPE is not just concerned with serving and protecting today’s public employees, but also those of tomorrow. Through our Aspiring Educators Program, MFPE offers student membership for college students who plan on becoming teachers. As part of the greater Aspiring Educators Program of the National Education Association, MFPE student members join over 50,000 student members on 1,100 campus chapters across the nation.

MFPE Aspiring Educators advocate on behalf of their students by:

• Improving the quality of educator preparation programs
• Seeking affordable college options
• Recruiting and supporting diverse educators
• Enhancing safe and supportive learning environments for all students

Through our core values, we promote educator quality, community engagement, political action, and social justice. Many Aspiring Educators go on to become activists at local, state, or national levels. Aspiring Educators helps you become a well-informed, professional teacher through high-quality workshops, conferences, publications, websites, and professional materials for classroom teachers from our national affiliates, NEA and AFT.

Together, student members in MFPE work to promote excellence in public education, help teachers succeed in their profession, and provide good working conditions for teachers and good learning environments for students.
