Educators and policymakers are increasingly looking to teacher professional learning as an important strategy for supporting the complex skills students need to be prepared for further education and work in the 21st century. For students to develop mastery of challenging content, problem-solving, effective communication and collaboration, and self-direction, teachers must employ more sophisticated forms of teaching.
That’s why MFPE offers trainings and professional development opportunities specifically geared towards our certified teachers and education support professional. These trainings are designed to help our education professionals hone their skills and meet state and national standards.
MFPE’s annual educator’s conference takes place every October and offers hundreds of sectionals on every topic in education.
We coordinate the highly acclaimed ER&D (Education Research and Dissemination) workshops for teachers, and PASS training for paraprofessionals.
In addition, MFPE’s Montana Professional Teaching Foundation works to coordinate the Montana Educator Forum, the National Board Certification scholarships and support, the Montana Teacher of the Year Program, and Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science teaching.
