During the 2021 Montana legislative session, MFPE members joined together in record numbers to advocate for public services and defend our workplace freedoms. Over 7,000 members took action to support investments in the public services that we provide and defeat legislation that threatened our union freedoms.
With the 2023 Montana legislature convening in January, we will need to build on last session’s successes and make sure that legislators get the message again! Whether you’re a returning team member or a new one, please join us for the inaugural MFPE Rapid Response Team meeting of the 2023 Legislature on Wednesday, December 14th at 5:00 PM.
By contacting our legislators, writing letters to the editor, submitting public comment, and testifying before committees, we can pass the MFPE-negotiated state pay plan for state employees, assure needed investments in schools and public agencies, prevent the privatization of public services and public education, protect our pensions, and defend our rights to even belong to a union.
It’s up to us to make sure our voice is heard by legislators this session. Every member is needed and we hope you’ll plan to join us on December 14th. (Check out President Curtis’ recap of the Rapid Response Team’s 2021 wins below!)
